This blog is a bunch of random posts that I put together over a span of a few months. It basically shows where I've been and what I've done during my time from January to May. A majority of the pictures on this page have been taken by me, with the exception of a few images that I lost along the way. My blog "ODD PLACES" is everything around me, everything I experience and come across in life.
About Me
- Lucas Fernandez
- I enjoy taking pictures of places that look interesting to me. I also look for events that make an impact on the world as we see our lives change everyday. I believe planet earth is a very complex place and we will never discover its true meaning.

Griffith
The Griffith Observatory is one of the coolest places you can ever go in LA. You can use the telescope to see planets that are light years away, not to mention the fantastic views from the Hollywood Hills, you are able to see the entire city and much more from the edge of the Observatory. At night time you can see the glow of light illuminating from the entire spectrum of land in front of you. I took the photo on the bottom.
UNDFTD. II/II
Undefeated in Los Angeles is also one of my favorite/most visited stores on La Brea. Here you can find just about any shoe you desire. They carry, limited edition Nikes, Jordans, Pumas and many others that you can't find anywhere else. I like shopping for shoes here because no one else usually gets there shoes here and its nice to always have something that not a lot of people have. I've spent way too much money here.
Venice Beach, Ca
Last spring break my family and I took a trip down to Southern California to Santa Monica and Venice. While we were there we explored the beachfront strip of vendors and entertainers. Venice beach reminds me of the Haight/Ashbury streets in San Francisco. On this same day there was an earthquake in MexiCali and it had traveled all the way to the LA area and we felt it as our hotel swayed back and forth

Brids Eye View
I took this photo from my flight from Ontario back to Sacramento. If you look into the distance you are able to see the city of Los Angeles although it does not look that big, this photo is taken at 36,000 ft above the ground. The smog layer is also seen very clearly from this height. You are also able to see the ocean in the far distance. The flight from Ontario back to northern California only takes a little over an hour.
U of R
Last weekend I took a visit to The University of Redlands in Southern California. I flew to Ontario International Airport and drove 30 minutes to Redlands. I also attended the Admitted Students day at the University and took a tour of the campus. For those of you who don't know where Redlands is; it is located about 50 minutes east of Los Angeles and near the city of San Bernardino. My two college choices have come down to the U of R or San Diego State University.
JC-LA
Johnny Cupcakes in Los Angeles is probably the most unique store you can ever walk in to. When I first stepped foot into the shop with my parents, they thought I was going to go buy edible cupcakes. It looks like a bakery because of the ovens and refrigerators along with the stove top counters. Johnny cupcakes is one of my favorite street wear brands as Johnny likes to keep his clothing super limited and only sells the garments at his shops in Boston and LA. You can read Johnny's story here:

Snow!
For people who live in Calistoga; well they don't seem to see snow too often, so I decided to take a few friends up to the snow on Mt. St. Helena. We went down hills of snow on sleds as we crashed into the trees below. I have never seen this much snow in my life so it was a fun experience for me. That day we also created a 500lb snowball that was as tall as me. I would like to go to the snow sometime soon, because I never get to experience snow like I did here.
N. FairFax Ave. Los Angeles, CA
This photo was taken while I was walking down FairFax Ave. in Los Angeles. On this street you can find Huf LA, Fight Club Los Angeles, Supreme, Diamond Supply Co. and other boutique stores that I like to visit while I'm in the area. This photo is taken across the street from The Hundreds store on Rosewood Ave. It is one of my favorites, because I like the way the artist displayed his work on one of my most frequently visited streets in LA.
Z&G!
Zion I and the Grouch performed at the Filmore in San Francisco on March 18th. I went with smurf,Crystian M, Will S and my brother Justin. It was a sick concert as people were going crazy and passing out on the dancefloor. You never know what you can see in SF but that night was full of night prowlers. After the concert we went back to SF State and watched Tropic Thunder. Pretty soon I would like to go back to the City and see another concert.
